Behind 41 saves by Nick Niedert, the Ice Muskies (5-5-2) shutout the Evansville Icemen (4-4-1) 4-0 Saturday night at Hartmeyer Ice Arena.

Madison jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first five minutes behind goals from Mitch Kerns and Mike Thomson. Brad Johnston added a goal in the second period and Cameron Sault scored the capper later in the second when Niedert started a fast break that left Sault with a 1-on-1 oppotunity with the Icemen goaltender.

It was the second shutout of the season for Niedert, with both of them coming against the Icemen at home.

The Ice Muskies will go for the sweep over Evansville Sunday at Oregon Community Sports Arena. The puck drops at 5 p.m.
